Restoring former glories...
After buying the building and beginning renovation, discoveries of Middlesbrough's eclectic and charming history were uncovered.
Taking things back to the bare brickwork exposed evidence of more than 200+ years of classic Middlesbrough history.
Not content with the white cloned buildings lining the streets in 2012 however, it was decided that Mink should be taken the extra mile to bring out the former glory that our forefathers used to know and love.
Built from local history...
Sourcing local scrap, Mink has been lovingly restored using driftwood, bricks, reclaimed iron and steel, even long forgotten fairground rides have been given a polish for a second chance to be beautiful.
All our tables and chairs were found cruelly abandoned, but with a few extra hours of love are now waiting to greet you by our hand built bar.
Tattooing
All our health registered artists and apprentices have extensive artistic education so you can be sure we know our way around a pencil and a tattoo needle.
Collectively our artists have 20 years' experience in giving clients the tattoos they want and love with the awards to back this up.
We will also regularly have guest spots available from European and world renowned tattoo artists to keep all you tattoo lovers on your toes.
We also understand that in this day and age people expect unbeatably strict hygienic conditions so we work hard to be stringent and conscientious when it comes to client safety and comfort.
Opening hours for tattooing are flexible for those of us who are rushed off our feet during the daylight hours. So no matter how busy your schedule you can always come down to relax, put your feet up, grab a coffee and a piece of beautiful body art.
The art of refreshment
For your refreshment we serve a sundry of quirky and tasty ales, wines and spirits from around the world, there's bound to be something that tickles your fancy, and if there isn't- just ask, we'll gladly put together your favourite cocktail.
Coffee made the traditional way
If you're getting tattooed or just fancy something else we serve fresh coffee, hand pulled from our antique Italian machine.
We source our coffee beans through a specialist Italian roasting company, who we have worked in conjunction with to bring you only the finest.
Once you've tasted our coffee you'll agree it stands miles apart from the others made by electric coffee machines.
Snacks & treats
Feeling hungry? We have that covered too, with delicious cakes, crepes, nachos and Panini's available to order fresh from the bar in lots of different flavours and varieties- guaranteed to fill that gap! Cooked onsite or baked fresh daily, ask at the bar for our daily specials and offers.

After the artistic adventure of recreating this stunning location our aim is to bring the people of Middlesbrough local art and culture.
From photography to tattooing, smooth jazz performances to the spoken word we have everything to indulge the senses of people of all ages and tastes.
We pride ourselves on providing a safe and comfortable environment away from the hustle and bustle of other local clubs.
Mink is the first ever tattoo coffee bar to grace our fair land so no expense was spared to bring you something just that little bit different.

We aim to bring Middlesbrough something different for everyone every week.
Because Mink has such a vibrant and off the wall atmosphere it seems only right to bring you acts and events that match.
We're looking to work with local promoters to stage some amazing new events such as:
Live music, Comedians, Performers and dancers, book signings, meet and greets, poetry readings, gallery style showings, wine evenings and small exhibitions.
